
I've run into a problem with this approach with JDBC, in that JDBC, when it builds its internal UPDATE command from an updateable resultset, ignores quoted identifiers. You mentioned near the beginning of this thread that you can always use a quoted identifier if a column name happens to be a reserved word. It has helped to cut way down on the size of my inbox in the morning! Most emails that get sent to me get this little blurb in return, so it is not the best way to get in touch for a question.

I was in a good mood so rather then just deleting it, I put it into the form for them and answered the question. Instead of using the form to supply the requested information - they emailed me the stuff.
